Per Diem Infusion Nurse
All Locations, New York
As our team has grown, so has our need for clinical coverage for the pre-planned vacation and last minute emergencies and sick days of our nursing staff. As we continue to expand access for patient care via evening and weekend patient booking times, we may have consistent shifts available to per diem or part time nurses, as well. We are therefore looking for excellent nurses to join our extended team for per-diem opportunities. We compensate $350 - $500 per day for pre-planned opportunities, and $60 an hour for unplanned opportunities.
We are seeking candidates distinguished by their compassion, curiosity, and desire to learn and grow. This role will include clinical administration and oversight of ketamine infusions alongside our clinical teams. We are just as selective in our per-diem selection process as we are for full time roles. Due to the specialized nature of our work, all per-diem nurses must attend a paid training course offered biannually before providing care to our patients.
Credentials
Acceptable candidates must have a current New York State License in one of the following professions: Registered Professional Nurse (RN), Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS), or Nurse Practitioner (NP).
Responsibilities
Our expectation is that all per-diem staff provide excellent, therapeutic patient care on par with the clinical care provided by our full time employees. Specifically, the responsibilities for per-diem nursing staff include:
Ownership of patient care in-office including:
Facilitation of IV infusions in accordance with Ember Health protocols
Monitoring of patients during the infusion process
Appropriate management and escalation of treatment complications
Creation of a calming, safe, and professional environment
Engagement in therapeutic communications before and after infusions, thereby creating a safe, supportive emotional space for all patients
Maintenance of accurate electronic medical records
Management of a highly-organized, safe, and clean work area
Professional communications and engagement with the Ember Health team

Experience
Highly adept at placing IVs, trained and experienced in cardio-respiratory monitoring, and comfortable monitoring patients during procedural sedation

Why the Role is Compelling
As a member of our per-diem nursing cohort, you will have the chance to work alongside a passionate, committed team, delivering the gold standard of care for one of the most promising treatment options in mental health. You would work within a supportive, development-oriented environment. At this time, our per-diem nurses are not required to cover a minimum number of shifts, so you would be able to engage in coverage opportunities as your schedule allows. If you find that you enjoy working with our teams and patients, you would likely be among the first considered for full-time nursing opportunities as they arise on the team.
